Praise be to God! It’s such a wonderful feeling, praying to an all-mighty force. It’s a funny thing actually. We’re all different, in our oh-so-many appearances and opinions, but God doesn’t seem to mind at all. No matter how different we praise him, it’s always a fun and beneficial activity to do. Now, want to try something different? Try to think of ways on how to praise the Lord and make your faith proud, in different and exciting ways. Don’t be scared – it’s for this glory anyway. Here are a few suggestions, to start the ball rolling:
Movies can Work
Promoting otherwise not accepted movies by the church, to promote faith progression, can be a good way for praise. It of course, has to be a positive and morally-inclined flick. Let’s take I am Sam, the Sean Penn tearjerker as an example. The film’s depiction of a man suffering from a mental disorder, and his struggle on raising a single daughter, can serve as a good way to explain how God loves each one of us. No matter our faults, no matter how bleak the situation is, there is always a ray of sunshine to look forward to. Or, perhaps the movie Up. Though a 3d-animation film, it’s underlying message of love and family is so great, that even adults shed a tear upon watching it. Don’t believe me? Check out the segment, Married Life – it’s one of the most powerful and moving scenes I’ve ever watched from a movie catered for children.
Hold a Rock Concert
Rock Music has a negative stigma that it is the Devil’s Music. But don’t you know that the piano was originally considered as the Devil’s instrument, mainly because it can play a forbidden tune? But I’m digressing. Holding Christian Rock music gigs can be a good way to foster faith and trust in a Christian community. Some of the most hard-hitting rock musicians have actually converted to Christianity. Brian Welch, Korn’s (a monstrous nu-metal band) ex-guitarist, left the band to pursue Christ. He’s still into nu-metal, except it’s all dedicated to the Lord this time. Having rock concert gigs can also help reach out to the younger generations – it’s basically using their venue to preach and praise!
Because Everyone Needs a Hug
Helping someone out is another form of praise to God. And sometimes, even just a simple hug can mean the biggest thing for some. Think about it – everyone has their bad days, when not even the most sweetest of words can heal. A simple hug is all that needs to take the pain away. See that old lady in the bus stop, asking for money from all the people who passes by? Try to give her a hug. She’ll be more than relieved to feel that someone actually cares.
Praising God does not need to be limited to prayers and attending services. It can be done in our everyday lives! We just need to look deeper, and find for it. So have you come up with any praise idea? Hope it’s good, and try to apply it straight away!
