Dominican Network has grown tremendously since its establishment. As a part of its development, small organizations like YouthPinoy sprung up to give the Catholic youth an opportunity to be connected with each other. Youth Pinoy consists of a group of Filipino Catholic youth who have the same passion – that is to show the world about their faith through the use of new media which is the internet. Members here have come from various churches, groups and Catholic schools.
YouthPinoy members share the Good News not through public-speaking skills like preaching but through the God-given talents they have. Some write worship songs, some put their passion in dancing, visual arts, photography, theater arts and journalism. They believe that through their shared talents and skills, they will be able to reach out to the people who are “spiritually sleeping”. Writing Blogs and Bible reflections online is also one of their many ways to spread God’s Word.
This organization is like the shadow of the Catholic Church – following the church’s religious beliefs and principles. The group is also concerned with the various political issues brought up everyday. As a Catholic organization, the youth members are upholding the Catholicism teachings, whether it’s in spiritual or in socials aspect. They are also known for their famous battle cry, “Winning the World through the World”.
Established by the Catholic Bishop Conference of the Philippines, YouthPinoy aims to disperse the Gospel through the use of internet. This organization was made possible by the efforts of every individual involved. Today, many Catholic people are getting familiar with this group. Various seminars and tours already transpired in-line with reaching out with as many Catholic youth as possible. YouthPinoy is just one of the many Catholic groups who pursue in dispersing the Good News in a way that people will not run away or get intimidated with serious preachings.
